Travis Mathew supporter Patrick Cantlay wil be teeing it up along side Tiger Woods in the first two rounds of the Frys.com Open at CoredValle in San Jose, CA. PGAtour.com has the match up of the week between Woods and Cantlay. Who are you going to pick?
From www.pgatour.com
“One of the themes for the 2011 PGA TOUR season is the competition involving the younger players and the established ones. How will the veteran players — those with significant TOUR experience and long-standing championship pedigree — fare against the hungry up-and-comers who are looking to nudge their way into the TOUR’s elite? Each week, PGATOUR.COM will select two players and analyze their chances heading into the tournament. We’ll then track which player has the better score for his team, and keep a running team tally throughout the year.
For the Frys.com Open, we’ve selected UCLA sophomore Patrick Cantlay and former world No. 1 Tiger Woods. The two will tee off Thursday at 3:10 p.m. ET (12:10 p.m. local) off hole No. 1.
Woods is making a rare appearance in the Fall Series after missing the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup for the first time in his career. He missed the cut in his last start on TOUR at the PGA Championship and will be looking for his first win since the 2009 BMW Championship.
Cantlay, one of the game’s most accomplished amateurs, will be making his fifth PGA TOUR start of the summer at the Frys.com Open. He has finished 24th or better in the other four, including one top 10 at the Travelers Championship. The 60 he shot in the first round at TPC River Highlands remains the low round on TOUR in 2011.”

Our friend, The Man in the Black Hat, posted an open letter to Phil Mickelson and his current wardrobe…
“It’s time — time for a wardrobe change. For what now seems like forever, you’ve been wearing bespoke shirts from Q’aja and trousers from Tom Ford, a combination that for a long time worked well.
Phil Mickelson’s bed head hints that sweeping changes are required. But as you now seem to be morphing into a poor man’s version of notoriously stylish Tommy Armour III, you’ll need to up the apparel ante post haste to keep pace with the grandson of the Silver Scot in order not to look like the man who’s apparel time forgot.
With the longer, bushier hair and the increasingly high and wide lines of you visor, paired with the very un-Mickelsonesque use of a belly putter, you’re is quickly becoming an caricature of yourself — you look like Phil, but at the same time, you don’t.
Chapeau Noir harkens back to your more youthful days on tour when you wore Fairway Blues, with the upturned collar that was SoCal to the bone. Happily, the remedy is simple, and it can be found right there, in SoCal at Travis Mathew HQ. Yes, Travis Mathew is what TA3 happens to wear, and it works very well for him, and it would work just as well for you as you are gents of similar proportions (on pgatour.com, Phil is ‘listed’ at 6ft 3, 200lbs, TA3 at 6ft 2, 190lbs).
Listen, your belt probably costs more than Chapeau Noir makes in a month, and you’re more than welcome to carry that accessory forward if you need a security blanket. We can even deal with the visor, though we do prefer the cap.
But the time has come Phil. You know it, Amy knows it, everyone knows it.
Sincerely, Chapeau Noir
P.S. While you’re at it, ditch the belly putter. It’s not a good look, even if you do have the belly for it.”
