The Sales Analyst is responsible for a wide range of analytic projects, including in-depth analysis of each distribution channel, including large format retail, sporting goods and golf shops. The Sales Analyst will work together with finance to develop detailed forecasts and variance analysis to uncover the drivers of the business based on multiple variables like product, mix, and consumer preferences. The Sales Analyst is a competitive, high energy individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in having a dramatic impact on the business. S/he is strong in excel with the ability to build financial models, analyze simple statistics, and most importantly, use data to identify actionable insights and effectively communicate those findings to the sales team. 

Essential Functions:

  • Apply data analysis skills and critical thinking to recognize key trends and drivers of revenue across multiple distribution channels with a focus on the wholesale portion of the business 
  • Monitor revenue performance against budget, analyze trends and compare results to prior year performance (pace) to assist in forecasting revenue performance
  • Work independently and with various sales team members to become a subject matter expert on product categories and use category management to drive revenue growth
  • Develop analytic tools and ad hoc reports to support the sales and finance teams in achieving company goals
  • Analyze sell through trends at large format retail stores and recommend store specific buy to sales team
  • Develop weekly pacing metrics for each sales channel that you review with sales leaders to ensure pacing is in line with prior year and adjust targets, as needed
  • Analyze product categories by customer clusters and set category targets for sales team; track category performance against targets
  • Work with the IT department to develop detailed reports to streamline communications from a data management perspective
  • Lead regular meetings with the sales team to utilize the reports and insights and create an effective feedback loop to impact revenue
  • Be the super user of front end BI system and work with IT to understand the back-end structure and report limitations
  • Ability to work effectively under light supervision to accomplish objectives
  • Model the TravisMathew Brand Culture to achieve service excellence, meet and exceed organizational objectives and support fiscal responsibility                                                              


  • 3-5 years of relevant analytical, sales and/or category management experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including models, statistics, pivots and power query
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a track record of solving business problems
  • Passion for analyzing data and discovering new insights to drive revenue growth
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced, results-oriented, team environment
  • Strong organization skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to take initiative, follow-through on requests until completion, and utilize a keen attention to detail
  • Experience working with databases and retrieving/compiling information form information systems. Strong ability to processing data to structure and build excel models for analysis and forecasting purposes
  • Microsoft BI experience, preferred
